Child Sexual Abuse

Providing legal represention for child sexual abuse victims.
Lawyers Against the Sex Abuse of Children understands that a child that has been a victim of sexual abuse is one that does not recover easily from the trauma. Childhood molestation can happen as early as infancy, and any type of this abuse, be it mental, physical, or emotional, has a very long-lasting effect on the victim that can last well into adulthood.

The child is almost always stripped of their childhood innocence and becomes fearful of others. Most often these horrified children grow up unbalanced and traumatized, sometimes turning to drugs and other bad influences to help them through, and often develop behaviors that will sabotage their relationships with other people. But most importantly, children can lose their trust in adults, especially if they think that they will not be believed. Therefore, it is up to others, especially those who work with children and teens, to report any suspicion to the authorities immediately. Unfortunately, not everyone acts on these suspicions.

Lawyers Against the Sex Abuse of Children are working to change the laws.
Because of the nature of the abuse and the lack of trust amongst the children, many abuse sexual molestation cases are not revealed until the victims are well in to adulthood, at which time the statue of limitations in most states have long passed their expiration date. Lawyers Against the Sex Abuse of Children is working to abolish this statute of limitations and allow any person to be punished whenever the abuse comes to light. We also favor tougher penalties for mandated reporters who do not report suspicions of sexual abuse to authorities.
